It seems colds, cases of flu, and viruses are having a hay day this season. I wanted to share some lifestyle tips and supplements to keep you rocking.
Disclaimer: I do not know all of your medical histories or backgrounds so if you have any existing health issues or take medications such as blood thinners or anti-seizure meds I would suggest checking with your doc first. (I am happy to help too if needed!) . See the common sense message below for more information.

Lifestyle Keys to boost & maintain your immune system.
1. Get quality sleep: Sleep plays an essential role in everything from brain function, to weight loss, but especially immune function. So when you have a choice between binge-watching one more episode or getting to bed… be sure to pick the latter.
2. Cut added sugar. Excess sugar can suppress immune function through a variety of mechanisms particularly by negatively impacting your gut microbiome. So steer clear of things with added sugar and limit the cookies and sweets.
3. Increase your micronutrients! It’s not news that vitamins and minerals are important but it might surprise you just how important they are to immune health. When we are stressed, overworked, or getting sick our bodies need more of certain nutrients to maintain immune function. Taking a high-quality multivitamin can help but also make sure to get plenty of veggies and low glycemic fruits.
4. Move and sweat often: Our lymphatic system houses much of our immune system and helps with detoxification. Unfortunately, this system does not have a pump so it depends on our movement to function. Exercise or even just standing up at least once an hour can help to keep your immune system firing appropriately and prevent toxins from accumulating.
5. It's also worthwhile to note that fevers are a good thing. That is your bodies' way of killing off infection with temperature. With that in mind, letting a fever run its course can shorten the duration of sickness. My rule of thumb: If your fever is below 101 and you are not completely miserable, ride it out. If it goes above or if I am absolutely miserable I reach for a fever reducer. Of course, check with your doctor on this to find out what is right for you.
Now as far as supplement recommendations... There is a whole arsenal of supplements that could help support the immune system. In addition to a solid foundational supplement regimen (including things like vitamin d, a high-quality multi etc)…. Here are my "all-stars" that I have found to be most effective and well-tolerated by all to push you through the “crud” as swiftly as possible!
If you would like to order any of these supplements you can order them at a discount from our online dispensary. They even offer expedited shipping. Here is the link to register and order: https://wellevate.me/eatawaycancer
Viracid by Ortho Molecular Research: This product is one of the best for cranking up the immune system when you need it firing fully. It has support for both viruses as well as the flu. I recommend this at the prevention dose if you have been around someone who is sick. And if you are feeling sick or feel it coming on that's when it switches to immediate support. This one has saved me (and my clients) more times than I can count.
For Immediate immune support: 1-2 capsules per hour. until you fall asleep.
For maintenance and prevention: 2 capsules per day or as recommended by your healthcare professional. Do not exceed 2 capsules every hour.
Flucommune by Ayush Herbs: This product is geared more specifically for the flu. It has herbs to boost the immune system as well as support lung health. It can be used alongside the viracid.
For Immediate immune support: 3 capsules per day. Divided doses.
For maintenance and prevention: 1-2 capsules per day.
Immune Charge Plus Zinc Ionophore from Quicksilver Scientific: This is hands down the BEST zinc product on the market. It contains zinc complexed with quercetin, luteolin, hesperetin, and propolis, which forms an ionophore designed to dramatically enhance cellular uptake of zinc while providing targeted lung, and histamine support.
For Prevention and immediate support: Take 2 capsules with 8 ounces of water. If not well tolerated, take 1 capsule with 8 ounces of water twice daily.
To help with cough: I suggest Chestal from Boiron they have both children and adult formulas
For the kiddos: (Obviously Check with your Pediatrician First):
Immune Avenger from Herb Pharm. for kids. Offers broad and robust immune support and lung support.
For Immediate Immune Support: Shake well and Add drops to 2 oz. of water or juice, 3 to 5 times per day. 24-49 pounds: 10 drops 50-74 pounds: 20 drops 75-99 pounds: 30 drops 100+ pounds: 40 drops.
For Prevention: (Cut dose in half)
Mighty Might, Kids Detox, Focus, & Immune System Support from Hello Health for Kids 4+, teens and adults :
This product is amazing because it supports immune function and brain health and focus. I recommend it as a preventative and of course it can be continued with regular dosing during illness onset if it occurs.
For Prevention and Immediate Support: Adults & children 4 years and older take one (1) capsule each evening or as recommended by a healthcare professional. Adults may take up to one (1) capsule, twice daily.
